Preparing Your Home for Dry Season: The Annual Reset

As the wet season ends and Townsville transitions into the dry, it's the perfect time to reset your home from the humidity, mould, and wear that the wet brings every year.

Preparing Your Home for Dry Season: The Annual Reset

The Dry Season Opportunity

The end of Townsville's wet season is one of the best times of year to do a full home reset. The humidity drops, windows can be left open, and your home can air out properly for the first time in months.

If you use this window to clean thoroughly, you'll be starting the dry season in the best possible condition — and maintaining it will be far easier from that point.

Room-by-Room Priority List

Bathroom

The bathroom takes the hardest hit during the wet. Prioritise:

  • Grout and tile deep clean
  • Silicone seal inspection and replacement if needed
  • Exhaust fan cleaning (dust and mould accumulate in the housing)
  • Window track cleaning — these trap water and mould all wet season

Kitchen

Humidity affects kitchen cupboards, particularly those near the sink. Check for:

  • Mould on the inside of cupboard doors (especially hinge areas)
  • Rangehood filter — replace or deep clean
  • Refrigerator seals and underneath the fridge
  • Pantry contents — discard anything past date and wipe shelves

Floors

Tile grout throughout the home will have accumulated a season's worth of tracked-in mud and moisture. A machine tile and grout clean at the start of the dry season is one of the most effective ways to refresh your entire home at once.

Outdoor Areas

Patios, outdoor furniture, and exterior walls collect mould through the wet season. A pressure wash and cobweb removal will make a dramatic difference to your home's exterior presentation.

Professional Dry Season Reset

If this list feels overwhelming — that's completely normal. This is exactly what our Deep Clean service is designed for. We'll work through the entire home systematically, leaving it genuinely clean at the cellular level, not just the surface.

Deep Clean pricing starts from $360 for a small home and $420 for a larger home.

The best time to do a deep clean is right as the dry season begins. Everything that follows will be easier to maintain.
